Having already committed to learning English and managing the England team, Fabio Capello now has another responsibility having been named as the President of the League Manager’s Association.
The new England manager, who is expected to name his first England squad next week, takes over from Steve McLaren as President of the LMA in a role.
Since the LMA’s inception in 1992, the presidency has always been held by the incumbent national team manager and Capello’s decision to accept the role continues this tradition.
Commenting on the appointment, Capello said: “I am aware of the importance of the LMA and the work that it does and it is an honour to accept the invitation to be the Association’s President.”
LMA Chief Executive added: “Fabio Capello brings extensive experience of football at the highest level, from across Europe, to the role and the LMA executive team is looking forward to working with him. On behalf of the LMA members we welcome Fabio to the role and wish him every success with England”
